Our babies are now 2 weeks old and growing very fast. It in a lot of ways has been a roller coaster 2 weeks. We lost 2 of our little girls which absolutely devastated us. Little girl 4 she was a pretty red whom we nicknamed Blossom died on 28/05/2010 due to having a cleft palette. We tried everything that we could but unfortunately there was nothing we could do. Our vet Matt was wonderful and caring and as he explained to us this can be quite common for any pup and it was just unfortunate that it had to happen to 1 of our litter.

Pup 2 whom was a lovely little black girl whom we named Wiggles developed a twisted bowel and because of her tender age and size she was not able to be operated on to correct this problem. Again we tried everything but it was just not meant to be. Little Wiggles died on 07/06/2010 laying cuddled into her mummy Bela with Bela's legs craddling her.

As you can imagine the babies that we still have are even more precious to us now and we are on 24 hour watch making sure nothing else can go wrong with our darling children.

We have nicknamed our 4 little bundles of joy as follows Pup 1 black boy "Arnie" He thinks he is a weight lifter, Pup 2 Red girl "Faith" she is very special to us cause we thought we were going to loose her but she fought back, Pup 3 black girl "Bertha" she is the biggest and just keeps getting fatter and fatter, Pup 4 Red boy "Bluey" his colour is such a beautiful red and he likes to already push his siblings around in a very cute way.

PREGNANCY

Our beautiful Bela and Handsome Konan are expecting again. The puppies are due around the 27th May 2010. This will be Bela and Konan's last litter. They have done a wonderful job and produced very strong, healthy and adorable puppies of the past few years so after this litter being born, it is time for them to retire and enjoy the rest of their lives in comfort and being pampered.

At this time we are taking expressions of interest in the new litter. If you are interested in one of our pups please contact us by email on rowenyates@bigpond.com . We will be very strict in our choices of new homes for our babies as our dogs have excellent bloodlines and have all very sweet and gentle temperments. The pups will have to be included in their new familys lives and be very well cared for and loved unconditionally.

NEW HOMES

All the puppies found wonderful homes and the new owners were all very happy with their pups. We kept two. We named them Zara & Kyra. All the other pups names are Thunder, Sarg, Ruby, Ollie and Marlee.

Unfortunately at the age of three months we lost our beautiful Kyra. She and her sister Zara somehow were able to get through the pool fence and Kyra fell into the pool. By the time we got to her it was too late. We were absolutely destroyed by the lose of Kyra. We lay her to rest under the big gum tree in our back yard next to Minya our old silky terrier.

Our very naughty and wild Zara is the delight of our lives though. She is so precious to us and has us wrapped around her little paw. She is so active and full of fun, but has the most beautiful, sweet loving nature and just loves her cuddles all the time.

We show Zara now and she is doing really well. She looks so much like her dad Konan hence her Show name being KONBEL SPLITTIN IMAGE.

Week 6 & Pups first Needle & Microchipping

Pup No. 1 (no name yet), Pup No. 2 Thunder, Pup No. 3 Kyra, Pup No. 4 Zara, Pup No. 5 Ruby, Pup No. 6 Ollie, Pup No. 7 Marlee and all the 7 pups playing together.
The pups have had a very interesting week. They have had more foods introduced to them, and they have loved everything that they try. Poor babies had their first needle and were microchipped but they were all very brave and didn't make a fuss. The vet was very pleased with them and said that they were the best looking and healthy looking staffs that he had seen in quite a while. They are all interacting really well with each other as well as with their mum Bela & dad Konan. They are all sleeping through the night without a whimper. All in all they are very happy content little pups that are now a lot of fun to watch and play with.

All our 7 babies

All babies are growing so fast and are now eating porridge, weetbix and some turkey mince. They are still feeding from their mum but will shortly be weaned as poor Bela has just about had enough of 7 little staffies hanging off her all the time. Pups are all getting to know their dad Konan really well and he is being a very good boy to his children. The babies are starting to stay awake a lot longer and are wanting to play a lot more. They are also getting themselves into lots of mischief.

Our Beautiful babies are now 4 weeks old and doing extremely well still. They have had their second worming treatment and of course were yet again perfect angels. They had their first taste of some puppy milk (not from their mum) they loved it but still prefer their mum over anything else. They have all now been formally introduced to their dad and the "meeting" went very well.
